Yesterday I had a session on asp.net 3.5 and 4.0 features

Venue www.hyderabadtechies.info  , online session

Hyderabad Techies is a Microsoft Developer User Group initiative for sharing knowledge, started and mentored by Microsoft MVP, Chandra Sekhar Thotta. It’s really a nice experience we are been getting knowledge share from different people from different companies and different areas of expertise.

I am not a core member of the Hyderabad Techies. But i am trying to help the way i can, to contribute to the people, who are in need of desparate help.

My Session was on ASP.NET 3.5 Features, in which i explained about the major features in ASP.NET 3.5 and ASP.NET 3.5 SP1.  My main intention was to explain about ASP.NET 4.0, I know it’s important for people to know ASP.NET 3.5 first. Then only they will get an idea on what’s new in ASP.NET 4.0.

So after finishing i rushed on to ASP.NET 4.0, were all fine. Some minor set backs, some points i missed or messed. Other than that everything went fine.

I hope that every one got what i was trying to explain. Feedbacks where not that much good. But i believes that gradually things will improve.

More over i was not prepared at all. Because of hectic work schedule got me up in the day morning. I thought of preparing for it from office. But plans all went wrong.

I hope some other day i could explain those clearly and more elaborately..

Great work Hyderabad Techies..

Futures….

I was thinking Certifications will add advantage to prove myself in the industry. But things changed a lot, i have faced few situations while Offer negotiations were going on with HR’s of few companies.

I found they did not bother my certifications or my knowledge. They bother what is my current salary and making the offer according to that. It’s insane. Not every one have luck to start their career with Top CMM Level-5 companies. So gradually people will prefer to gain knowledge and expertise, working in other TIER companies. They have a hope that after some time their luck will change and they will get a better pay or better position meets with their dream and needs.

Some are not able to make it. But still we have hope, some day will get our number..

Basis of this post is that
I want to upgrade my MCPD Certification on .NET 2.0 to 3.5. I do not prefer taking upgrade exam, so i would always prefer to write full exam on .NET 3.5 Certifications.

My Plan goes as follows in some where in near future.

MCPD Enterprise Developer 3.5

Prerequisites for this exam are Papers
Pro: Designing and Developing Enterprise Applications Using the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (Exam – 70-565)- INQUEUE
MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Forms Applications (Exam 70-505) – INQUEUE
MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Applications (Exam 70-536 and Exam 70-562) – PASSED
MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, ADO.NET Applications (Exam 70-536 and Exam 70-561) – PASSED
MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Communication Foundation Applications ( Exam 70-503) – PASSED

MCPD : Web Developer 3.5

Exam 70-564: PRO: Designing and Developing ASP.NET Applications Using Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 – INQUEUE

MCTS: SQL Server 2008, Database Development ,   Exam 70-433: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development  – INQUEUE

These are my plans for future. I am taking certification not just for fancy or better position,  but to prove myself.

One day or the other I will Achieve my dreams.

That’s all for now..

Microsoft releases Silverlight 3.0

July 14, 2009 .NET, All, General, Microsoft, Silverlight, VisualStudio, VS2008 No comments

this is bit late news. – 9.7.2009

Today Microsoft launched its latest effort to “Light up the web”, Silverlight 3 which is now available for download.

Silverlight has come a long way since its version 1.0 launched in 2007. It has even attracted big players like Netflix who use it as their primary video player. 3.0 brings a host of improvements such as “Smooth Streaming” and “out of browser experiences”. Web developers will also appreciate the built in support for GPU acceleration.

Silverlight 3 introduces more than 50 new features, including 3D support, GPU acceleration, H.264 video support and out-of-the-browser capabilities to Silverlight.. The out-of-browser support will enable developers to build applications that work like Adobe’s AIR plugin. Dramatic video performance and quality improvements are also included.

One of my personal favorite features of 3.0 is the inclusion of Microsoft’s Smooth Streaming, the development of which was spearheaded by the Zune team. First shown at this year’s E3, Smooth streaming allows you to watch 720P+ video instantly… with no buffering. You can see sample of how it works at the official site http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming .Silverlight & Smooth Streaming was most recently used during Michael Jackson’s memorial service at the Staples Center live in Los Angeles. The quality and scaling was amazing, it could take the Live stream from sub-YouTube quality to 720P+ in a matter of seconds .

Only time will tell if Silverlight can make market share progress against Flash, but if 3.0 is any indication of future releases of Silverlight. Flash may want to start keeping an eye in its rearview mirror.

Silverlight 3.0 is available for download right now at http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/resources/install.aspx
